Pkr Announces Grandslam Poker In London

Young guns lead the charge as Dwan, Obrestad and Timoshenko sign up It's full steam ahead for Matchroom Sport and the UK 3D online poker room PKR.com as arrangements for the inaugural PKR Heads-Up Grand Slam live tournament in London surge ahead. The event is scheduled to from October 8-10, 2009 at 3 Mills Studio. GrandSlam will see 32 of the world's best players battling it out for the $100 000 first prize from a prize pool of $350 000 - with PKR adding $30 000 to the pot. The deep structure will let the players demonstrate their full repertoire of skills and the knockout format promises to offer some mouth-watering clashes. The 'Voice of Poker' Jesse May, will make the draw for the tournament on Monday September 7, which will be shown on MatchroomPoker.com and PKR.com. The big names are already in the hat with Tom “Durrrr” Dwan, Luke “Full Flush” Schwartz, Annette Obrestad, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Vicky Coren, Nam Le, Sammy “Any Two” George, Roland de Wolfe, JC Tran, Andrew Feldman and Roberto Romanello are confirmed to take part and more top stars will be announced in September. Players can also qualify for one of six open spots with satellites that will run only at PKR.com.
