David La Ronde Takes Down English Poker Open

GBP 208 367 main prize goes to Brit player

UK poker pro David la Ronde triumphed in the English Poker Open at the Dusk Til Dawn poker club in Nottinghom this week, winning GBP 208 367 and beating Michael Turenic from the Full Tilt pro team in a tough heads up. It was La Ronde's biggest single win yet, eclipsing his $116-and-change second place finish last month in the GUKPT Luton leg.

The two had battled through a field that attracted the likes of Eric Liu, the CardRunners pro, Betfair's Annette Obrestad, Texas Dolly Brunson, EPT champ Marc Goodwin and Liv Boeree to make it through to the heads up.

Turenic, who hails from Sweden, took home a second placing prize worth GBP 121 815.
