WSOP Bracelet #5 For Jeff Lisandro

Sep 20, 2010
Aussie pro triumphs in PLO event The Italian-resident Australian poker pro Jeff Lisandro snared his fifth World Series of Poker winner's bracelet Sunday, taking down the GBP 5 250 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha event at WSOP Europe in London. Dominating a star-studded final table, all that remained of an original entry field of 120 hopefuls, a clearly tired and uncommunicative Lisandro collected the winner's check for GBP159 514 and the bracelet at the Empire Casino in the early hours of Sunday morning. Lisandro had to battle his way through a final table that included Joe Serock, Willie Tann, Jeff Madsen, John Racener, Karl Mahrenholz, Felipe Ramos, Jeff Kimber and Chris Bjorin to gather in the honours and the lion's share of the GBP600 000 prize pool. When Willie Tann busted out in third place the scene was set for a Serock vs. Lisandro heads up, with the former holding the chip lead, but early in the match Lisandro seized this by doubling through his opponent, and building on it to ultimate victory. Serock's second placing was worth GBP 98 262.
