Winner's bankroll boosted by $1.5 million This has been a great week for a Brooklyn poker pro, 29-year-old Eugene Katchalov, who proved his player quality by winning in the Super High Roller Event at the 2011 Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure tournament in the Bahamas and taking home the superb prize of $1.5 million. This prize was not Katchalov's biggest, as his first placing back in December 2007 at the WPT Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic brought him massive $2.48 million. However, with this latest prize, his career earnings amount to almost $6.5 million. This was a $100 000 buy-in event, which saw 38 contestants, including aces like Katchalov's heads up opponent Daniel Negreanu, Nick Schulman, who led the chip counts when the final table action started, Bryn Kenney, Humberto Brenes, Sandor Demjan and Andrew Lichtenberger. Lichtenberger was the first one to leave the final table to Negreanu. Then came a lot of exciting action, Kenny dropped out, taking the third position with $643 000, leaving Negreanu and Katchalov in the heads up with pretty even chip stacks. However, Katchalov early on gained a massive advantage when he took down a $6.3 million pot, and even though Negreanu played very well, he was unable to catch up Katchalov's advantage, which was by the dinner break almost 7 times higher. An hour after dinner, Katchalov broke his opponent's defenses, and took the first place with $1.5 million, while Negreanu collected a cool million as his runner up reward. Even though he didn't win, Negreanu's position still pushed him to the head of the all-time earner's list, with remarkable $14.1 million, overtaking the position from Phil Ivey.
