Chris Oliver gets a good head start This week's reports have been filled with news from the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure, which is entering its final stage after five days of tough live poker. The survivor that will have a seriously good head start in the main event final table, which will be held on Saturday afternoon, is Florida's 21-year-old Chris Oliver. Oliver and another 21 players came out as survivors of an original pool of as much as 1 560 players and on Thursday they sat at a table to fight for a position in the final eight at the Atlantis Hotel and Casino on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The winner of the whole event will take home $2.3 million out of the massive $15 132 000 prize pool. In terms of the famous names who busted out before entering the top eight, there is Chris Moneymaker, whose comeback hopes were dashed when he crashed out at 11th, as well as the last woman standing in the game, Spain's Ana Marquez, who busted out in 10th. And the final eight, next to Oliver who gained a superb lead 13.24 million and the player nearest to him, Galen Hall, are: Sam Stein (5,855,000); Mike Sowers (3,685,000); Anton Ionel (3,520,000); Max Weinberg (3,350,000); Bolivar Palacios (2,445,000); and Philippe Plouffe (1,555,000). Their prizes will depend on their positioning, of course, so the final four will get at least a million each, whereas the others will boost their bankroll with a minimum of $202 000.
