Monte Carlo Poker Tournament Goes to Kabitzke

German pro takes home EUR300 000 The past week has been extremely exciting in the small state of Monaco, where 221 international players, including some big names like Markus Lehmann, Kevin MacPhee, Isabelle Mercier, Tobias Reinkemeier and Fabrice Soulier, gathered to play in the inaugural Everest Poker One main event held at the prestigious Salle des Palmiers. With such a great number of participants, the prize pool wasn't behind – it was worth EUR 1 071 850, and the biggest prizes went to the top two players – the winner Julian Kabitzke, who took home Euro 300 000, and the runner up Alexander Debus, whose runner up prize amounted to Euro 170 000. Kabitzke was one of the players that qualified on the internet, via Expekt Poker; the other two were Julien Pouchain from France, who ended up 6th, winning Euro 58,000) and Australian, Joel Dodds (3rd – Euro 112,000), who qualified via Everest. Therefore, the final table comprised Kabitzke and Debus, along with Joel Dodds, Alessio Isaia, Xavier Carruggi, Julien Pouchain, Adrian Aston, Marc Sander and Manuel Bevand.
