Prestigious title and Euro 50 000 for the reputable pro
Outplaying some 50 rivals in the field saw young poker pro Jason Mercier climb the winner's throne and claim the Euro 50 000 main prize in the European Poker Tour Champion of Champions event this week.
In the heads-up, Mercier faced PCA champion Galen Hall, whose runner-up position brought him Euro 25 000 in Season 8 buy ins.
In regards to the big victory, Mercier stated: "It was a tough tournament. Really good players came out and when we got deep I did think at one point that I was going to bubble it."
