PokerStars Shows Serious Non-US Expansion Intentions

Doubled prize pools expected to attract more interest It seems like Pokerstars' non-US focus is getting quite serious, as the company this week raised the ante by doubling prize pools on two of its Sunday flagship competitions. The first, the $215 buy-in Sunday Million tournament has a guaranteed prize pool of one million dollars, whereas the other one, the $215 buy-in Sunday Warm-Up event now features a $500,000 guarantee prize pool, which is expected to attract more players. According to the PokerStars spokesman, “The first Sunday of the new schedule on June 5 will see many of the guarantees doubled. In total, $4,780,000 is guaranteed on June 5.”
