US pressure on Aussie authorities obviously fruitful Following reports that the US are making a lot of pressure on the Australian authorities to investigate into PokerStars' subsidiary GP Information Services and its activities, allegations emerged in the public that PokerStars is planning to leave the Australian market from August 2011, although the information has not been confirmed or denied by the online poker giant. Namely, last month's news from the local media informed the public that the Australian federal government has been advised by the Australian Crime Commission (ACC) to “...start charging poker websites blatantly getting around Australian legislation, by outlawing their services,” stressing that the ACC sees “online poker and the unregulated movement of funds as having the potential for money laundering and revenue and taxation fraud.”
