Big Change Introduced at Party Poker

A major operational model switch takes place From Aug. 24, one of the oldest online poker providers, Party Poker, will start calculating rake in a different way – namely, it will switch from the 'dealt' model to the somewhat controversial 'weighted contribution' method. The difference between the two models is that in the 'dealt' model, rake is calculated by dividing the total rake paid in a hand by the number of players participating in that hand, whereas in the weighted contribution model, every player is credited rake based on the percentage of money that he or she individually contributed to the pot. In addition, the company has announced another move – it is about to reduce the rake on its popular sit 'n go tournaments, a move which is also likely to be unpopular.
