Loveman Takes Positive Stand towards Legalization of Online Poker?

Aug 26, 2011
Best case scenario – legalization this year In this week's statement, Gary Loveman, CEO of the Las Vegas-based gambling giant Caesars Entertainment, has expressed a clear positive stand regarding the legalization of online poker in the U.S., thus encouraging the country's massive player pool that has been keenly expecting some positive changes. When asked about the potential for the legalization of online poker, Loveman, a fiery advocate of federally legalized online poker, was quite clear – if Congress can provide the necessary functionality to get legislation through, it could even be achieved this year. Business-wise, Loveman assessed that such a move would have significant benefits, considering the great demand in the country. As for his company's land gambling operations, they are currently under expansion in Las Vegas, developing a $550 million outdoor entertainment, shopping, and dining district near the Las Vegas Strip - The Linq. This project will have what is supposed to be the world's highest observation wheel - the Las Vegas High Roller, which should be open in late 2013. Other Linq plans include an open-air marketplace with 30 to 40 storefronts, about 70 percent of which will be restaurants and bars, targeted on the youthful market with the emphasis on entertainment.
