Update: Players Complain, Party Reconsiders Rake Change

Aug 27, 2011
Poker giant announces delay Even though they previously announced that a change in their rake calculation model is imminent, Party Poker's not long afterwards decided to delay the change due to an increased number of player complaints. Namely, regarding the policy change which included a shift from the present dealt rake structure to weighted contributed rake, players estimated that such calculation would bring the operator up to 45 percent more rake at $3/$6 and 63 percent more at $5/$10. According to them, such a change would prejudice disciplined and tight players compared to looser playing recreational players, offering bigger rewards for the more active players who generate greater rake for the site. Having this in mind, Party Poker announced that it is considering a decision on excluding $3/6 and $5/10 NL hands from the changes.
