New Zealand Poker Tour Main Prize Goes to Germany
Schreiner takes home his biggest win to date After three days of the 2011 PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour Queenstown, German poker pro Marcel Schreiner outplayed the field of 127 players and took down the main event prize. Throughout the action, he held the chip lead, in the end ensuring his first live tournament win and the biggest payday to date. The final table comprised Schreiner, Matt Yates (whom he faced in the heads-up), John Waterman, Carl Knox, Daniel Laidlaw, Tom Grigg, Xiao Dong Xia, Hugh Cohen and Jonathan Karamalikis. In the heads-up, Yates and Schreiner were pretty much even at the beginning, but later on Schreiner became more dominant, in the end defeating his opponent and taking home the main prize of NZ$94,300 and the title. For his trouble, Yates received a second placing check for NZ$60,000.
