FTP-Introduced Rush Poker Gets Competition?
Who's next to introduce the popular concept? Even though Full Tilt Poker was the first one to introduce the concept of fast online poker, Rush Poker, it seems like many of its competitors seek to take a slice of that popular cake. The concept involves a fast-paced game that enables players to move to a new table immediately after folding a hand, and FTP has applied to patent it, which does not seem to bother its competitors. One of these is InstaDeal Poker Network, whose exec Per Hildebrand is leading the initiative in the field. Reportedly, his view of the FTP public claims to patent protection is that they are unenforceable, as FTP only met one of three criteria necessary to be granted a patent on its Rush Poker concept. He also said that another brand may be preparing for the same drive – the leader in the domain of poker, Pokerstars. “PokerStars has suggested launching something similar and no one really knows what they're up to but we gather that they're looking into the legals. In all honesty I'm a little surprised that they haven't launched anything yet,” Hildebrand underlined. In regard to InstaDeal's product in the field, Hildebrand revealed it will target both online and mobile users, adding that the terminal market still features in InstaDeal's plans and that he was currently considering going to the Italian market. A review of the product also states: "The software is pretty fast. A few people seem to not like the bet-slider but if you understand that it was designed for ipads, tablets and pub gaming machines then the design makes sense," the review observes, going on to point out that the rake is "a little high at micro-stakes (6% with usual cap) but currently this is more than compensated for by very good bonus/rakeback deals designed to attract regular players to the site. "It might not be operable in more than one table at a time on mobile, but for speed players that's often enough,” it concludes, opining that both support and cashout processes are fast and efficient. On the other side, the InstaDeal site claims the software is fully available to operators: “This unique Texas Hold'em and Omaha software is available as an online network to be integrated directly into an existing back office to perfectly complement a sports betting, casino or poker offering.”
