European TV Coverage Deal for Epic Poker
The Poker Channel to air Epic Poker from January 15th What's new at Epic Poker League – that it is pursuing a TV broadcasting deal with The Poker Channel, based on which it will get more than 70 hours of tournament coverage broadcast throughout Europe. The relatively new League will see the first broadcast of its action on The Poker Channel on Sunday, January 15, 2012. The deal also includes a full TV schedule with previews and programming details on both the Poker Channel website and its Facebook page. According to Katherine Kowal, vice president of League Operations and Programming at owners Federated Sports + Gaming, "Expanding our television coverage into Europe is a step forward for building a global fan base for Epic Poker. "Poker Channel Europe, with quality distribution and broad reach, will help us introduce our content to a very important market and audience." In addition, Chris White, Gaming Media Group's director of business development said that “the success of the League's first three events, and the quality of production, makes the company a good partner for Poker Channel and compelling viewing. “ The countries that will be covered by the broadcast include Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
