EPT Galway Goes to Mullin
Euro 100 000 for the winner It is now official, Emmett Mullin is the winner of the United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour in Galway, where he beat 698 hopefuls to the main prize of Euro 100 000. At the final table, he encountered a formidable opposition from Ronan Gilligan, Joe Roberts, Craig Burke, Aleksandras Rusinovas, John Willoughby, Nick Abou Risk, Richard Haile and Joris Ruijs. However, there's only room for two in the heads-up so the Omagh pro, Mullin, and his fellow Irishman Ronan Gilligan crossed swords evenly matched in chips at the beginning of the action. Still, it was Mullin who prevailed, leaving Gilligan with the runner up prize of Euro 73,650 . The event saw a player taking a bad beat - Canadian pro Nick Abou Risk who even though he left his third UKIPT final table in the seventh place, which earned him Euro 14,700, he actually went home without a win.
