PokerStars Launches New Campaign
"Pray for a delay" campaign focuses on UK railway users PokerStars focuses on consumers with an outdoor advertising campaign to promote the launch of a new mobile app. During the four week marketing campaign, they plan to focus on the 5.3 million railway passengers on the UK's Southern Railway network. With a "Pray for a Delay" strapline, the ad is designed to reach those looking for something interesting to do during their commutes back and forth on UK railways. Research indicates that a high percentage of rail users use their mobiles to access the internet daily with the use of smartphones. PokerStars hopes to attract passengers to the new free app allowing them to play real money poker while on the move. “Train advertising provides a positive captive environment, with the average commuter spending 22 minutes within the train carriage, allowing them to absorb and interact with the advertising message and download the Pokerstars App to their mobile phone or tablet,” said Mark Dolan from Transport Media. Pokerstars has released their iOS and Android mobile app in the Asia Pacific region as well. Players in Australia and New Zealand are part of the Asian initiative, focusing on the use of local smart phones and tablets. The new app also features access to the new speed poker game, Zoom.
