Update: Online Poker Legalization Divides Californians
Different opinions shown in new poll A new survey commissioned by the LA Times newspaper and USC Dornsife College and conducted jointly by polling companies Greenberg Quinlan Rosner and American Viewpoint, showed some interesting positions regarding the state of California residents' opinions about the introduction of online poker in the state. What the poll showed was an almost equal division among the 1,002 registered voters asked for opinion on the issue, with 47 percent saying that they would favour such a development if, as lawmakers promise, it could raise $200 million annually for education, public safety and other government services. On the other side, about half of the respondents said such a move would set a bad example for young people and generate more problem gamblers.
