Opposition Mounts Against Lederer
This week's development in the Howard Lederer case saw his legal counsel file a motion to dismiss the Black Friday $ 42.5 million civil complaint pending against him. This motion follows additional allegations detailed in the Second Amended Complaint (SAC) and filed against Lederer, which his attorney assessed as "threadbare" and "lacking extensive factual support". He also said "the SAC is so structurally complex that it takes a cartographer to understand what is being alleged and against whom.” To make things gloomier for the former poker executive, Las Vegas poker pro Nick DiVella has protested about Howard Lederer's presence in the Aria poker room, and as a sign of his disagreement he has even drawn up a petition to be signed by fellow players who are of the same opinion. In the petition, they said: "We believe the casino has a moral and ethical obligation to bar Howard Lederer from playing in the poker room and should Aria casino fail to take immediate action we, the poker playing community, will be forced to boycott the poker room.” And on his Twitter profile, DiVella sternly said: “He doesn't deserve to play. Maybe this will be the start of a poker black list.”
