Is Lame Duck Session Lame for Reid-Kyl Bill?
At this point, there seems to be no way the much-debated Reid-Kyl federal internet poker bill will be passed in the lame duck session of Congress. Namely, as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told reporters this week, the requirement for support from at least a dozen Republicans in order to pass the bill had not been delivered. "At this point, we've got none," he said. It was added by Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., who supports the bill, that he was "beating the bushes" to garner fellow Republican support but is unsure whether he can deliver the votes needed - "It's going to be tough," he asserted.
