WPT Montreal Goes to Jonathan Roy
The World Poker Tour's Montreal stop saw its grand finale this week, when the main event was taken down by Canadian Jonathan Roy. The winner was decided in a heads-up between Canadians Roy and Pascal Lefrancois, with Roy emerging the victor and the best of a massive field of 1 173 players. Commenting on his win, which brought him the title, trophy, a WPT silver belt and a CDN$779 710 prize, Roy said: “This is incredible – the support here was amazing, the crowd really wanted to keep the title in Quebec and I am so happy to have done that.” As for the other final table payouts, they were the following: 2.
