The Isle of Man-based Rational Group, parent to online poker giant Pokerstars, has appointed a former Playtech executive Rafi Ashkenazi to the position of COO, reporting directly to CEO Mark Scheinburg on all issues concerning customer-facing product and back-office functions for Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker.
Until November last year Ashkenazi was Chief Operating Officer and VP of business development at the Playtech online gambling software group, which operates the iPoker Network. He previously worked for the SQLink company.
Ashkenazi takes up his new responsibilities on the Isle of Man on February 1, and his duties will embrace marketing, customer support, poker room management, IT management, payment processing & security, and game integrity.
