Paf to Close Spanish Online Poker Room

Paf to Close Spanish Online Poker Room
Paf's Spanish online poker room on the Ongame network is scheduled for closure as of February 25th. The site will host a final “Farewell Satellite Paf Poker Challenge” on the 24th allowing players to use up any tournament tickets they may have. Paf will not be closing other Spanish brands including the sportsbook and they will consider other options to launch another poker room in the future. The Ongame Network has had difficulty in the Spanish market due to the high taxes and regulations in the market. After the exit of Paf, one online poker room will be in the network. The launch date was not so long ago on June 5, 2012. Once the Spanish market made room for legalized online poker, Ongame.ES went live for the first time with Paf followed by Goalwin brands, Goalwin.ES and PokerMambo.ES in the fall. The market has proved to be a tough one and the network has had many difficulties. PokerStars currently dominates with a large percentage of the cash game activity with 888, PartyPoker and the bwin brand trailing.
