Stan James Poker’s Bad Beat Jackpot Pays Big to Lucky Punter!
Stan James Poker has not yet cooled from the re-launch of its Bad Beat tables across the Microgaming network, when one lucky loser hit the largest jackpot in the history of the Bad Beat tables, with over Euro 920,000 in the total pot. Namely, a Stan James Poker regular, _TiltShove_ aka Peter from Rochdale in the UK saw his straight flush beaten on the turn by a higher hand when the jackpot, to whose pot he opted in, hit and brought him a massive prize of Euro 370,788.79. The Bad Beat jackpot was generous to other players seated at the same table as Peter, rewarding them a total of Euro 47,134.16 each for opting in to the promotion. However, a true bad beat was experienced by a punter who won the hand, and was due a pay-out of Euro 185,394 but unfortunately did not opt in for the bad beat pot. He therefore had to settle with just Euro 81.21 he won from the hand being played. Commenting on the win, _TiltShove_ said: "I had been waiting for the re-launch of the Bad Beat Jackpot tables as the old format was out of my league. I thought I'd have a bash last night (19th) as on the new tables it is both easier to hit and is now available at tables within my budget. "Once I hit the straight flush on the turn, I was praying for the board to pair so there would be a chance of the jackpot triggering, it had not even occurred to me that there would be a higher straight flush out there. "I checked the turn and called the bet from my opponent and went all in on the river. I had lost the hand and it took a minute for the realisation to sink in I had won the Bad Beat Jackpot! I sat there speechless for a quarter of an hour staring at the amount I'd won in the chat box. "This win is a life changing amount for me and my family; I am still trying to get my head around what this means to us. Thank you for running a great promotion," he concluded. It was added by Head of StanJames Poker, Richard Cunningham: “This is obviously fantastic news for Peter and it just goes to show the value of opting in to promotions such as this. We're all chuffed to bits for him here and long may his lucky streak continue.”
