Director of Poker Operations at Borgata Forced to Resign?
It is being reported that Stan Strickland, Director of Poker Operations at Borgata in Atlantic City, has decided to resign. Strickland has managed the operations of the poker room since 2006 but now the rumor mill is cranking out headlines that he is being forced out and plans to go to Isle Casino in Pompano Park, Florida. In his position at Borgata, Strickland monitored the progress of the spring and winter tournament series. He had a hand in the partnership with the World Poker Tour and also pushed for a $1 million renovation which created The Boardroom high-limit poker lounge in the casino. Director of Poker Marketing for Borgata, Ray Stefanelli and Senior Vice President of Operations for Borgata Hotel & Casino, Joe Lupo have denied that there's any truth to this story but Strickland posted online that he most definitely has plans to work for Isle Casino. In response to speculation that he has been forced to resign from his position at Borgata, Strickland had this to say: “This is not true. I was not asked to resign. It is true that I turned in my two week notice Saturday night so that I could take the offer of Director of Poker operations at Pompano Beach Florida. Since I turned in my two week notice, I will be at the Borgata until I leave for Florida on April 6th. Please stop by and see me before I leave. Or, say hello in Florida.
