The Pokerstars Macau Red Dragon tournament main event was played over the weekend, when Taiwanese poker pro Terry Fan (30) proved to be the best among a record 891entry field, deservingly earning the main prize of HK$1,771,000 (about $230,000.)
The final table saw Fan face Gie Reyes (Philippines); Fei Xie and Wesley Zhu (China); Andy Asihwardji and Ryan Yu from Canada, Fanny Li (USA) and Sailesh Lohia from India.
In the heads-up, as well as the final table, Fan held a significant chip lead over runner-up Gie Reyes, who had to settle with a second-placing paycheck worth HK$1,242,000.
The event formed part of celebration on the occasion of the opening of the new Pokerstars LIVE Macau at the City of Dreams this week.
