Negreanu Wins His First Major Online Poker Tourney!
Although he is famous as a live poker tournaments player, Daniel "Kid Poker" Negreanu this weekend recorded his first big online poker tournament win. Namely, he scored a win in the $5,200 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha Six-Max event during the currently running Pokerstars Spring Championship of Online Poker and took home the main prize of $216,000. Immediately after the win, overwhelmed by joy, Negreanu tweeted: "Won my first ever major online poker tournament. This last two months has been the sickest run of my career. So thankful and so fun!" On his way to the new achievement, Negreanu outplayed an entry field of 179 players, and entered a heads up against player FA_Morgoth with a massive 11 to 2 chip lead. This was enough for his opponent to crack and leave the tourney with a still hefty runner-up prize of $148,950.
