Blom Scoops over $1 Million on PokerStars SCOOP
This week, Swedish online poker ace Viktor Blom (23) emerged a winner in the $10,000 buy-in Pokerstars SCOOP main event online tournament, besting 579 other hopefuls, and leaving the competition with a hefty main prize of $1.1 million – a lion's share of the gigantic prize pool of $5.8 million. The final table of the competition included Blom and respectable opponents like Noah "Exclusive" Boeken (Netherlands); cmontopdeck (United Kingdom); Mike "munchenHB" Telker (Cyprus); Sergio "zcedrick" Aido (United Kingdom); Ravi "govshark2" Raghavan (Canada); w4ldo (Germany); leshkaGmBlZ (Russia) and Amadi_017 (United Kingdom). The heads-up was down to Blom and Noah Boeken, who at the time held a 3 to 1 advantage in chips. However, Blom's famous aggressive style was on display throughout the action, enabling the Swede to dispatch his opponent home in under an hour, with a comforting runner-up prize in his hands – a paycheck to $803,300.
