WSOP Real-Money Online Poker Site Goes Live… Or Not?
The beginning of the World Series of Poker 2013 has been used by Caesars Entertainment to go live with a Nevada-licensed play-for-fun online poker site, but it happened that a technical glitch which temporarily let some players to deposit and play for real made this launch appear like Ultimate Poker is getting competition in the Nevada real-money online poker market. The glitch has been promptly rectified, and users have been notified that the deposits that were allowed by mistake have not been processed. Nevertheless, the fun-play site allowed players to get an insight into what is currently on offer, and they could access it from both Windows and Mac clients, as well as play for fun or opt for pre-registration for real money play and provide personal details such as physical address and social security numbers. Once these details are supplied, geo-location technology confirms the player's presence within the borders of Nevada. At present, it's still not known when Caesars is to launch real money action, but it is expected to happen this summer.
