Texas Representative to Push Forward with Federal Regulation of Online Poker
Texas Republican Congressman Joe Barton has reaffirmed his commitment to pursuing federal regulation and licensing of US online poker. Barton's Internet Poker Freedom Act has not made much progress since its introduction earlier this year but he maintains that it's the best route to take. “New Jersey's is the latest in a growing list of states to enter the online gambling world and this only reinforces the need for my bill,” he said. “Each law is different, which creates uncertainty with a complex array of regulations that could leave players at risk." Barton intends to continue to push his bill with Congress it will safeguard online poker and the rights of its players who expect a fair and honest experience.
