A scam emerged this week where offenders used a gmail address and attempted to obtain Bitcoins from players on the Merge Poker Network site Poker Host at a 25 percent discount.
Reports indicate that the fraudsters apparently hacked into the online poker site and sent a misspelled message to players via the software's internal messaging system and requested responses to a bogus gmail address.
"No Merge licensee offers Bitcoin. These table messages were unauthorized and Merge has the isolated incident fully contained,' the network said.
