Could Online Poker be in Florida’s Future?
The Florida Senate Gaming Committee recently discussed the draft of a gaming reform bill in the works to be presented during the 2014 legislative session. The draft is said to include various recommendations such as a $400,000 independent consultant's study of Florida's gambling market. Plans include bringing Florida gambling laws in line with other legalized states and implementing one gaming commission to oversee all gambling with the exception of the state lottery. Discussions also led to the suggestion that the Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering should be regulated by the new gaming commission and the modification of existing statutes for this purpose and to reflect additional gaming. The Senate Gaming Committee intends to have the draft completed next week.
