Men Charged in Korean Hacking Program Case
Korean authorities have stated that three men who attempted to buy hacking programs were charged this week. The men planned to sell the "Hacking Two" software, which is used to show the cards of players and further compromising data. The remote-controlled surveillance program is the alleged culprit in cyber attacks against Korean companies and government agencies in 2013. It was apparently distributed via peer-to-peer sites to attract the attention of online gambling operators according to the Korean Herald. "They were in pursuit of monetary gain and money alone, not caring a bit that what they did compromised national cyber security. We will continue to go after those who funnel money illegally into North Korea," a prosecutor said.
