Florida Dealer Takes Top Spot in WSOP Monster Stack
The 5-day World Series of Poker 'Monster Stack' NLHE event attracted 7,192 participants but resulted in one winner, a 26-year-old Florida dealer Perry Shiao, who took home $1,286,942 his first WSOP winner's bracelet. Shiao has been a dealer for 7 years at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL and won the best birthday present celebrating it on opening day and eventually taking the top spot. As one of the lower chip stacks, Shiao managed to make it to the heads up round against Canadian amateur player and investor, 31-year-old Eric Place. In an interested side event, Brazilian player Caio Toledog took 8th place with $150,783 and upon his exit took the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend, Fernanda, and she accepted.
