Americas Cardroom reported a "pretty large" series of Distributed Denial of Service attacks over the weekend Sunday.
The unknown attackers demanded an undisclosed ransom to be paid in Bitcoins. The attacks wreaked havoc on the Million Dollar Sunday afternoon tournament resulting in a loss of $300,000 according to CEO Phil Nagy. The company did not pay the ransom and managed to deter the attacks.
"You can't give in to terrorism," said Nagy said on Twitch live streaming channel. A cached stream is available here.

Hackers attacks are very dangerous at everytime. I have no idea how Americas Cardroom could deter the attacker but I hope they will share their experience with other Poker Rooms as well and they can make this industry to a safer place together.

Anyway in my opinion I think the attitude of Americas cardroom right not to pay any ransom and not accept any agreement. And also a very courageous attitude in public to come take this cyberattack, congratulations on stopping the cyberattack and prevent further damage. During FREEBUY Series also happened some "frozen" tournaments do not know if it's for the same reason.
