An unknown poker player from Taiwan, James Chen, won the HK$ 80,000 buy-in Macau Poker Cup High Roller competition taking down a field of 74 participants. As the first place winner, Chen took home HK$ 1,704,000 (approximately US$220,000). Chen took his seat at the final as chip leader. The 75 minute final table led to an even shorter heads up round resulting in Chen knocking out Makoto Yoshimichi of Japan in just 5 minutes.
