In anticipation of launching a real money poker room, Golden Nugget launched its New Jersey free-play online poker site but has informed players that it will close at the end of September.
Golden Nugget intended to enter a player-sharing partnership with Betfair Poker NJ but the unsuccessful performance from that operation has closed the door on a chance to introduce a real-money offering. Betfair Poker NJ closed in 2014 having shifted its online casino element to Golden Nugget.
The free-play site initially launched on the Ongame-Bally Tech platform but transferred over to NYX Gaming earlier in the year.
Golden Nugget will now focus on online casino games for the New Jersey market.
