French Player Wins Battle of Malta
The field of 1,804 participants in the Euro 550 buy-in Battle of Malta poker tournament broke records and resulted in a win for French poker pro, 29-year-old Nicolas Proust. Proust faced Henrik Jacobsen in the heads up to claim the Euro 110,000 prize and trophy. Proust, Jacobsen and Dutch pro Hendrick Koops agreed to a three-way chop giving chop leader Koops Euro 125,000, Jacobsen Euro Euro 102,000 and Proust Euro 100,000. Euro 10,000 remained on the table for the winner. Koops was eliminated in 3rd place yet took the largest piece of the prize pool followed by Jacobsen in 2nd place.
