Alvan Zheng Wins Macau Millions Main Event
A huge prize pool of HK$6.1 million was the result of a record 2,343 participants in the HK$3,000 buy-in Macau Millions Main Event held at the PokerStars Live poker room in Macau. This week, 27-year-old Chinese player Alvan Zheng is flying high after his victory and HK$911,000 prize. He defeated fellow Chinese player Quan Zhou in the heads up. Zhou took second place for HK$700,000. "I'm over the moon with the result and it's safe to say that poker in Macau is still thriving." said APPT President Danny McDonagh. "We increased the buy-in from HK$2,200 to HK$3,000 and decreased from six Day 1s to three so it was certainly a challenge to get here. But the structure adjustments that were implemented have clearly worked as intended and it's a terrific accomplishment to break the record in half the amount of days." The Macau Poker Cup 24 will be PokerStars' next event hosted at Live Macau scheduled for February 19th to March 6th and will include the Red Dragon main event featuring an HK$8 million guaranteed prize pool. Additional final table payouts: Guancheng Wu (China) HK$530,000 Howard Ka Ho Sun (Hong Kong) HK$383,000 Chun Liang Pan (Taiwan) HK$272,000 Tatiana Barausova (Russia) HK$185,000 Jason Lo (Hong Kong) HK$132,000 Tony Cheng (Hong Kong) HK$100,817 Boon Heng Siong (Singapore) HK$75,000
