Poker Prop Bet Update
It seems the poker world is more interested in prop bets than the actual playing of poker. So much so that many of the top, high stakes pros have taken time off from playing, to concentrate on their prop bets. Latest Poker Bonuses has been covering the insane prop bets that Bill Perkins and Dan Bilzerian have become the kings of the prop bet as of late with their bike rides from Los Angeles to Las Vegas; and millions of dollars exchanging hands. Bilzerian win the bet and the $1 million, and decided to see if any other poker pros were up for the challenge. Brian Rast was the beneficiary of the bet; only with a twist in the rules. Rast had less than a week to prepare and was not allowed to draft behind another vehicle. Earlier today, Rast crossed by the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign with an hour to spare winning $600,000. Rast only had to put up 100,000, while Perkins and Bilzerian gave him 6-1 odds. After the ride, Rast simply stated he wanted to go to sleep. MMA Meets Poker MMA fighters have been seen at the poker tables in the past. Chuck Liddell has been a regular at the WSOP over the past few years, with many other fighters taking on opponents on the felt. Two high stakes poker pros – Olivier Busquet, and JC Alvarado decided they wanted to take their fight off the felt, and in to the octagon. Alvarado has MMA fight experience and gave Busquet a slight advantage putting up $150,000 to Busquets $120,000. Both would have six months to train for a winner takes all, 3 round MMA fight. Earlier this week, the two would finally clash inside the ring to determine a victor. It was clear that Busquet had been training hard when he took off his shirt. He may possibly be the most in shape poker in the world right now. When he stood next to Alvarado, you felt pity for the much smaller fighter. Busquet took his ripped physique to literally man handle the more experienced – but much smaller Alvarado. The fight would go to the 3rd round, but was stopped by a doctor due to severe bleeding and a busted eye on Alvarado. His face was covered in blood, and it was a sad sight to watch. It was more like watching the schoolyard bully beat up on the smaller kids and taking his lunch money. Needless to say, Busquet won by TKO and was a bit emotional after the fight. For Busquet, this bet was more of a personal challenge to see how far he could push himself. By the almost tear filled eyes, it was obvious that Busquet put his heart and soul in to winning.
