PokerStars Discontinue Services In Washington

Residents of Washington can no longer access certain social gaming platforms including PokerStars, after the state's court ruled such services illegal, according to the gambling law. As a result, the operator discontinued free online poker within the state's borders to avoid potential regulatory discrepancies since the group's long-term strategy to spread on the US market has gained quite the momentum.

At this moment, players of the Evergreen state are blocked from access to the entire site, even though the gambling regulator requested suspension of free games. Under state law, gaming sites with options to buy in for more chips are prohibited. The Stars Group (parent company) announced that leaving the market is a temporary decision only until certain legislations have been uplifted. To repeat, in a recent lawsuit against Big Fish Casino, virtual chips were declared illegal as further play required either acquisition of additional units or more free samples.

In addition, PokerStars sponsors unrivaled live events across the globe including APPT (Asia Pacific Poker Tour), EPT (European Poker Tour) and the upcoming PSPC (PokerStars Players NL Hold'em Championship). To qualify for one of the events, players are invited to check the schedule, as tours are regularly added to the queue. At this moment, APPT continues in Korea from April 6th and April 15th followed by Manila Megastack from April 27th to May 6th in the Philippines.

From April 24th until May 4th, poker players are welcome to join the adventure in the French Riviera and qualify for EPT's Monte-Carlo Casino live event. Finally, those who are ready to make history and become a part of the PSPC in the Bahamas from Jan 6th to Jan 10th 2019 can win a whopping $25,000 by playing for free provided they took part in the APPTs!
