Allen Kessler

Allen Kessler is a professional poker player. He was born and raised in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Kessler was a regular at the Atlantic City casinos growing up. It's only a short ½ hour drive from his hometown so it made sense he would get hi start here.

Kessler started off playing cash games back in the early days of the poker revolution. He would move his way up the ranks and would soon be rubbing elbows with some of the best in the world. He was a regular at the high stakes tables with the likes of Phil Ivey, Barry Greenstein and others.

Although Kessler has been playing poker for a very long time, it wasn't until 2001 that he played his first tournament. In 2001 he played an Omaha event at the WSOP and came in 16th. It was from here that he was addicted to tournaments and would become a regular on the tournament circuit.

In his time playing tournaments, Kessler has amassed a small fortune with over $3 million in winnings. Sadly none of his winnings have brought home a coveted title. He does have 6 final table appearances at the WSOP with over $1 million in winnings form the prestigious event, but no bracelets.

His closest chance came in 2010 at the 41st WSOP when he placed 2nd in the $10,000 buy in 7 card stud event for over $270,000. He has another 2nd place finish in 2011 in a pot limit hold em as well.

Although he has no bracelets at the WSOP, he does a victory on the WSOP Circuit tour. Just this year in 2014, he came in first at Foxwoods for $170,000 and a ring.

Adding to his resume is 5 final tables on the WPT. Again, sadly Kessler has no WPT titles. His best finish was 6th at Foxwoods when he played 2007 WPPT Championship.

One of Kessler's more notable accomplishments or lack thereof, is his exclusion from Wikipedia. The famous online dictionary has yet to approve a page for Kessler. Alien, also known as 'Chainsaw' has been trying for years to get his name on this site to no avail. It's sort of become a hot topic on poker forums with many haters saying he does not deserve one.

Regardless of his status on Wikipedia and what others may think, Kessler is deserving of respect given his record in tournaments and cash games. Let the man have a piece of internet infamy for gosh sake.
