Canada has produced some great players over time and one of them is Andrew Chen. The Ontario Canada resident was born in 1988 and has been playing online and live poker since 2008. He would get his start playing online tournaments under the 'achen'.
He has won over $1.7 million playing online across all major sites. He has an astounding 1,200+ cashes online across just 3 sites.
In 2011 he would have his best finish online by placing in the Sunday Million for $112,000. While he has never won a major online tournament, he has over a dozen 2nd place finishes and dozens more final tables. He is consistent in his results and it shows when you look at his track record.
Live poker has seemed to suit the Canadian much better, especially lately. He has won over $4.1 million in live tournaments as of 2014. His best arena is on the EPT where he has won over $1.2 million. Shortly before the time of writing this (October 2014) Chen won his first major tournament. He would win the EPT stop in London for $630,000
This wouldn't be his best live cash though. In 2012 he would final table another EPT event in Berlin but come in 2nd and win $801,000. His 3rd final table on the EPT was in 2009 when he placed5th in the Poker Stars EPT Grand Final for $536,000.
He does add 1 other final table in a non-main event on the EPT. In 2008 he got 3rdat the EPT Prague for $412,000.
Andrew does have some small cashes at the WSOP. He has 7 total cashes and did reach the final table in 2009 when he placed 2nd in a $1,500 buy in no limit event for $412,000. His total WSOP earnings are $459,000.
Andrew has been one of the more consistent players in poker. His total live and online earnings are close to $6 million. All this coming with just 1 major victory and no scores over $800,000. In a day where someone can 1 tournament and have $ 4million in winnings, Andrew has taken the slow and steady course proving he's no one hit wonder and here to stay.
