Artie Cobb

Artie Cobb is considered a legend in poker circles for his Seven Card Stud skills. He is widely known as one of the best stud players in the game and has appeared in numerous publications and training materials on the subject.

Artie was born in 1942 in Bethel New York. He now resides in Las Vegas where he continues to play poker for a living.

Cobb began playing poker early and has won numerous WSOP bracelets and other titles in major tournaments. His first major win dates way back to 1983 when he won his first WSOP bracelet. His total tournament earnings exceed $1.7 million as of 2014. Much of these winnings have come min various stud tournaments. Which makes his winnings even more impressive since the prize pools are smaller in these tournaments.

His WSOP earnings make up for more than half of his lifetime earnings with almost $900,000. His 4 bracelets all came in Stud tournaments. His first in 1983 would win him just $52,000

in a Stud Hi Lo tournament. Four years later, he would a $5,000 buy in stud tournament and win $142,000.

It would take another 2 years to win his 3rd bracelet in yet another stud tournament for $146,000. His final bracelet would have to wait 7 years until 1998 when he won a $2,500 buy in stud tournament for $152,000.

Cobb doesn't just play stud, he plays all the games. He's even finished deep in the main event of the WSOP on several occasions. His best finish was in 1990 when he placed 28th.

Cobb is an old school player who can still play with young guns in today's game. He moved to Vegas in 1976 and has been in this business for a very long time. He knows the ins and outs of poker and his experience is enough to make him ma threat any time he sits at the table.

As recent as 2013, he made a final table of a stud tournament at the WSOP where he finished 8th, showing he still has what it takes to win in this game.
